Today’s travel world is changing rapidly. And for a small company like ours, it’s not always easy to stay abreast of all the changes. We have noticed a change in how people (organize) travel after the pandemic. Large corporations like TripAdvisor and others are offering one-stop shops, and others are rushing to fill in the gaps, specializing in a certain kind of travel, certain destinations, etc.
We try to stay in our lane. While we have partners when it comes to travel on land or sea to see Gothenburg, our lane is “seeing Gothenburg” with all that entails. That’s what we do best. Sure, we are happy to book a restaurant for a guest or suggest a great show or something else that goes beyond the time they share with us, but since we don’t make money off of it, it’s not what we do. It’s simply part of our excellent customer service.
Most of our guests book directly
Traditionally, most of our guests have booked directly with us, having found us on Google, etc. However, we have always worked closely with the luxury hotels of Gothenburg to provide our excellent services to grateful concierges across the city. They keep coming back!
Recently, more and more DMCs and travel agents have reached out to us. And they come from all over the world. This year it’s reached new levels of activity which is why we’ve decided to dedicate a page specifically to how we want to engage with a DMC or travel agency.
This year alone we’ve had the opportunity to work with several DMCs. They’re usually in full panic mode when they reach out. We’re flexible and happy to help, but the less time we have, the less opportunity to organize the perfect tour!
We welcome everybody
To make it short, we happily work with everybody, as long as you adhere to certain rules:
- We don’t do “off the rack” tours. It’s just not who we are.
- Expect us to ask you questions about the guest. As we strive to create the perfect walking tour or boat excursion etc. we want to make sure the guest gets what the guest wants.
- We do not discriminate against guests. Anyone is welcome, regardless of age, culture, ability, gender, or creed. We will make sure to accommodate your guests’ specific needs, be it allergies, diets, mobility, etc., and suggest a tour suitable to their needs and preferences.
- We are a tour guide. We will fetch the guests and take them on a tour. That’s it. The challenge lies in making the tour as interesting and fulfilling for the guest as possible, including meals, transportation, sights, etc. You won’t find anyone who does private tours better than we do! We pride ourselves on providing the best customer service.
- Be honest and truthful with us. It’s sad to mention in a list like this, but if you don’t know what kinds of interests your client has, ask them. Don’t make things up. See us as your best friend in this. If the guest loves what we show them, it will reflect well on you, too! To do that, we need to understand our guests as well as we can.
- Recently, we increasingly see itineraries created by AI and DMCs asking us to fulfill that. It’s not that we wouldn’t want to, but we can’t bend time or space. If you don’t know the destination you’re selling, ask us. We’re the experts and partners in making your guests’ visit to Gothenburg a memory for life.

- Let’s talk money. Our pricing is based on an hourly rate. It’s non-negotiable. If you’re on a budget, please let us know and we’ll provide a quote that stays within that budget. We are happy to quote transportation etc for you in a total package. If you are a European company with an EU-VAT registration, we will not invoice VAT. Otherwise, VAT will be included in the quote. Please note that all our invoices with EU-VAT numbers are reported to Swedish and EU tax authorities as per EU regulations. We do not cheat! Finally, unless we’ve worked with each other in the past and we trust each other, we do not invoice, i.e. all tours must be paid ahead of time. It’s not about you.
